FOR SPECIAL TOWN MEETING
OCTOBER 23, 2013
MINUTES
PENOBSCOT, SS, TOWN OF
TO: CATHERINE FISHER, a
resident of the Town of Stetson, in the County of Penobscot.
In the name of the State of Maine, you are hereby required
to notify and warn the voters of the Town of Stetson, in said County, qualified
by law to vote in town affairs, to meet at the STETSON FIRE STATION LIBRARY
COMPLEX in said Town, on the 23rd day of October at 6:00 p.m. then and there to
act on Articles numbered 1 - 3, all
Articles being set out below, to wit:
Regular Selectmen’s meeting to follow:
ARTICLE 1.
TO CHOOSE A MODERATOR TO PRESIDE AT SAID
TOWN MEETING.
Motioned, seconded, and passed to appoint Nancy Watson
as the moderator to preside at said Town Meeting.
ARTICLE 2.
TO
SEE IF THE TOWN will vote to
authorize the Selectmen to , on behalf of the Town, to
allow the Stetson Fire Department to use the “Old Town Office” as a training
facility with the building’s ultimate demise.
RECOMMENDED BY SELECTMEN: The Selectmen be so authorized
Motioned, seconded, and passed as written.
ARTICLE 3.
TO
SEE IF THE TOWN will vote to
re-appropriate the approved Sand and Salt Shed Funds (
Article 12, Line # 36 $11,452) and the remainder of payoff of approximately
$6,000 to deal with the mold related issues at the “Old Town Office”.
RECOMMENDED BY SELECTMEN: The Selectmen recommend to accept as written.
Motioned, seconded, and passed to NOT re-appropriate
or pass the above article. (Also noted was the confusion in which the Article
was voted on) A vote was recorded of 18 NO and 17 YES to Not re-appropriate the
funds.
